Tangle's Points Program

We're excited to announce the points program publicly and reward early participants for contributing their time, compute, and assets to our platform. Our goal is to incentivize and reward useful participation in Tangle's ecosystem. The following ways to get involved will ensure eligibility in our points program. You can also learn more about our points mechanics here.

- Restaking assets

- Operating nodes

- Building blueprints

- Creating instances

- Creating content

Restaking Assets

Tangle leverages restaking as a means to augment the security of specific services. In exchange for providing assets, we will reward direct TNT incentives as well as points. Depositing eligible assets even to begin with will be enough to earn TNT and points in future airdrops. If there are assets you or your community/ecosystem would like to see incentivized in Tangle, please reach out to the team, and share a proposal.

In general the following types of assets will be incentivized and earn points.

- BTC and LSTs/LRTs of BTC

- ETH and LSTs/LRTs of ETH

- EIGEN and LRTs of EIGEN

- DOT and LSTs of DOT ecosystem / parachain assets.

- AVAIL and stAVAIL

Operating Nodes

Tangle would be nothing without its validators. Our platform won't be possible without operators of our services. Operating nodes is a great way to participate and will be easily tracked onchain. For each session that your nodes are active, you can rest assured you will be earning points.

As we go live with services, operating nodes on both testnet and mainnet will be included. This allows any new participant to enter our ecosystem. We have a testnet faucet that you can use to get enough funds to onboard as a validator or operator on the Tangle Testnet. Participating on our testnet will make you eligible for each new season's rewards. You will gain the ability to earn TNT on mainnet, allowing you to continue further in gaining points, reputation, and future airdrops.

Building Blueprints

The most noble way to participate (hehe) is to develop and innovate with us. We have a powerful SDK and growing its usage and feature set will provide points and direct incentives through the completion of bounties, grants, or our builder's programs. Creating content around how to build Blueprints is both valuable to our ecosystem as well as to the proliferation of open source software and education.

There are lots of ways to contribute and no contribution is too small. No Blueprint is too simple. We love to see anyone try to build anything. We reserve the right to award points to projects that sufficiently complete their implementations are pass our judging criteria.

At the far end you can imagine that projects which

1. Have a complete implementation with tests and a README

2. Have deployed on testnet

3. Have a working demo against testnet

Will be eligible for TNT rewards that will allow them to deploy to mainnet and get more active in Tangle.

Creating Instances & Content

With an active ecosystem of Blueprints, operators, and restaked assets, the last remaining piece are people to use them. Blueprints that have working products and create value for real customers will both earn points and rewards for their instances but also earn points for their customers. Customers who leverage useful services will be able to earn points and gain eligibility in future airdrops. We reserve the right to judge services and instances for eligiblity here and will aim to decentralize the governance of this to Tangle's democracy over time.
